Dealing with Difficult People

In life, we all run across difficult people that we may or may not have to deal with. Sometimes it's the rude waiter or cashier, or sometimes it's a co-worker or boss. The former examples are easier to deal with because they may just be one time interactions. The latter, especially work or family members, may be trickier to handle because you are forced to deal with them in either a work capacity or at a family function. Have no fear! There are ways to help make it through! One good trick it to limit your contact with that person. If you are forced into dealing with a difficult person, make the interaction short. This limits the time you have to see them thus reducing the effects that person may have on you. Another good thing to keep in mind is that the person may not be worth all the energy your spending on them. Ask yourself, is this person worth me getting upset over? If the answer is no, then take a deep breath and only have interactions with them as necessary. Always keep in mind that you are in control of your feelings and you always have the option to walk away from a situation. Hope this helps and as always, take care of yourselves!
